摘要:

This talk reviews recent works at ANL on application of lasers and laser techniques in accelerator related research, including beam characterization, laser-beam interaction, and beam generation. Topics include nonlinearity in electro-optical sampling for beam characterization, betatron oscillation of beams in laser plasma accelerators, 3D laser pulse shaping for laser driven rf guns, and others. 3D laser pulse shaping has the potential to significantly enhance the performance and at the same time reduce the cost of future x-ray free-electron lasers.

报告人简介:


Yuelin Li obtained his Ph. D at Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics. He was a visiting Scientist ad Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Max-Planck Institute, University of Maryland, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He is currently a scientist at Argonne National Laboratory. His research interests include R&D of ultrafast x-ray sources, laser application in accelerators, and ultrafast phenomena using laser pump x-ray probe techniques. He teaches the “Laser application in Accelerator” course at the US Particle Accelerators School.
