The goal of nuclear astrophysics is to understand the origin of the chemical elements and the energy generation in stars. Despite of more than half a century of efforts, there are still some challenging, yet important problems left in this field. In my talk, I will review some of these problems, such as the solar metallicity puzzle, the creation of oxygen in massive stars, the carbon burning process and the nucleosynthesis of the elements from Fe to U. The research opportunities with Chinese facilities will be discussed.
报告人简介:
唐晓东博士主要从事核天体物理和放射性核束物理。他于2002年获得美国Texas A&M University 博士,曾在Texas A&M University和 Argonne National Lab 从事博士后研究。他于2006年起在University of Notre Dame 任助理教授。
