Short Biographies for Prof. Ralph Eichler:
Ralph Eichler, born 1947, Swiss citizen, Prof. Dr sc. nat.
Member of the ETH Board since 2004, member of the Executive Committee since 2008.
President of ETH Zurich since 2007
Ralph Eichler studied physics at ETH Zurich and he returned there as a professor in 1989. From 1998 to 2002, he was Deputy Director of the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), where he then served as Director until 2007. Ralph Eichler is on the Boards of Directors of Belenos Clean Power Holding Ltd and Venture Incubator AG. He is a member of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences. He is also Vice-President of the Rectors' Conference of the Swiss Universities (CRUS) and board member of “swissuniversities association, founded in 2012.

Short Biographies for Prof. Per Peterson:
Per F. Peterson holds the William and Jean McCallum Floyd Chair in the Department of Nuclear Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. He performs research related to high-temperature fission energy systems, as well as studying topics related to the safety and security of nuclear materials and waste management. He was appointed in February 2010 as a member of the Blue Ribbon Commission on America's Nuclear Future. He has served as a member or chair of numerous advisory committees for national laboratories and the U.S. National Research Council. He participated in the development of the Generation IV Roadmap in 2002 as a member of the Evaluation Methodology Group. His research in the 1990's contributed to the development of the passive safety systems used in the GE ESBWR and Westinghouse AP-1000 reactor designs. Currently his research group focuses primarily on heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and regulation and licensing for advanced reactors.
